It may not feature perfect ports but Castlevania Requiem still contains 2 of the best games ever made. However, after playing through these gems, it's hard not to feel bittersweet. On one hand, the era of perfectly crafted gaming experiences has passed in favour of Hollywood-style rubbish and wannabe indie developers. On the other, enjoying these timeless classics again is an absolute treat.

For die-hard fans of the series, there is nothing new to be found here, but for those who never had a chance to get their hands on any of the Castlevania titles, this collection would be a perfect start to enter the Castlevania world.

With two brilliant retro games in one bundle, the gameplay in Castlevania Requiem is excellent.

Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood offers two of the best experiences from the long-running Castlevania series in one convenient package. While both games still hold up extremely well, the collection as a whole doesn’t introduce anything new to fans, making it feel like nothing more than a slapped together port. Still, both titles are worth the time of fans and newcomers.

Castlevania Requiem lets players get their hands on two excellent games, so even though it offers little else, it is still a worthwhile purchase.

Castlevania Requiem doesn’t expend much effort. The menus are still unpleasant and the translation is as poor as it was back when these two games released. But they were also amazing games, and they still are.

While Rondo of Blood is entertaining enough, the lack of extras and the inferior version of Symphony of the Night being included in this package is sure to disappoint.

I can dream dammit!! Expand

    "What is a man?"

As the title suggests, this collection contains "Rondo of Blood" and "Symphony of the Night", two of the best Castlevania games ever created.

Should you bother with this? Well, that depends.

If you've never played them before and you like Castlevania or "Metroidvania" type games, then stop reading, go buy this, and enjoy. They are masterpieces.

However, if you've played this before (I'm looking at you hardcore retro gamers!) and you currently have other versions accessible, then you can probably skip this version....unless.....you want to enjoy this in your big HD TV with nice up-scaled pixels.

You see, these ports aren't based on the original releases of these titles, they are based on the PSP versions which have some changes. This irks some, I personally don't care. If this is you, then skip Requiem, otherwise fire up that PS4 and enjoy two classics on the big screen.

This is a port of the PSP version. The voice acting and dialogue has been changed in small but impactful ways. If you want to hear Dracula’s cheesy opening speech, you’re out of luck. No “What is a man...” speech here.
Still a great game. But was hoping for the original PlayStation version, but this will do I suppose.

To be honest i really regret getting this "remastered" collection (as i already own the psp dracula x chronicles. Expand
