Velocity 2X is the highly anticipated sequel to Velocity Ultra that features amazing puzzle-platforming action alongside award-winning top-down shoot em-up gameplay!

Engage the Quarp Drive teleport to outsmart the enemy in race-tuned space combat, then dock your ship, jump out and run around on foot to infiltrate enemy bases. Once youve disabled internal defences, jump back into the Quarp Jet and continue your mission!

Velocity 2X takes the same approach to great gameplay design that made Velocity Ultra so much fun, and applies it to a puzzle-platforming adventure too, making Velocity 2X twice the twitchy fun!

Velocity 2X is a marvellous, quick paced experience with plenty of re-playability, that definitely finds its home on the Nintendo Switch. If you’ve never experienced Velocity 2X before then you are in for a treat. Get it in your (solar) system, now.

Velocity 2X has online leaderboards to keep players coming back for more, and with the inclusion of all previously released DLC as part of this Switch iteration of the game, this represents the most complete version of the title to date. It’s not an especially long experience, but length isn’t always the objective of a given game, nor is it always an indicator of quality. Velocity 2X is a delightful addition to the eShop exactly as is. FuturLab says that how well Velocity 2X sells on Switch will play a huge role in determining if another sequel is made, so we implore you to go out and give it a download!

In an age where indie titles are becoming increasingly more reliant on procedural generation to do all the heavy lifting, it can be immensely satisfying to play a game that is tailor made for one specific experience. Velocity 2X excels in this regard, offering up an immaculately designed, endlessly replayable arcade experience that shows just how engaging twitch gameplay can be. We would give Velocity 2X a high recommendation, especially to anybody who’s looking for a great pick up and play arcade game for their Switch; this is one you definitely don’t want to miss out on.

This is one of the finest action games I've played in a while, and every individual piece about it works.

Velocity 2X fires on all cylinders in every way, providing frantic yet fun space shooter action that is always a thrill to jump back into. Get the first game in the series onto the system, stat.

Velocity 2X is a clear example of the positioning that the Switch catalog is taking. Providing the console with the company's flagships and, in addition, with such a wide range of genres and renowned titles of the last five years, makes it impossible to say no. Velocity 2X comes 4 years later to a format inherited from PlayStation Vita so we are facing a conservative bet that has been translated into a very correct game for the format offered by Nintendo Switch and respecting the original version.

It feels really, really good playing Velocity 2X, whether you fly the teleporting spaceship, or run with the teleporting heroine - and all the while a pretty catchy set of tunes bop along. On the… not so bright side, though, the action can get a tad repetitive, and, somehow, this heavy focus on speed-running sort of damages what seems like the groundwork for a much more meatier experience.
